As I watched my son, my firstborn child, walk down the aisle to receive his High School diploma, I began to ask myself, "how did I get here?" I was just walking that aisle myself what seems like only a few years ago. I can remember the rehearsal, the heat of the sun at Booster Stadium, my family, and the pictures. I can even remember eating at Ryan's Steakhouse after it was all over. It was a milestone for me just as last night was a milestone for my son. Then I began to think of other milestones since my graduation. My wedding, the birth of both of my children, new jobs and lost jobs. Each event closed one chapter and began a new one in the book of my life. My prayer for my son is that he finds the joy and happiness that I have found in the ones I love. I wish him success in his giftedness of music and fullfilment in his relationship with the Lord. I love you son, I am very proud of you. May God continue to lead and bless you.
What are some spiritual milestones in your life? Can you remember when you gave your life to the Lord? Your baptism? Can you remember the first person you led to the Lord. Has God used you for something significant since you have accepted Him as your Savior? If you can't answer these questions it may be becuase you have never received the free gift of salvation. If that is the case, please respond to this blog and give me the opportunity to share this wonderful gift with you. He loves you so much and He has a plan for your life. If you have already been saved, then what are you waiting for? Give your life away. Let the rest of your life be marked by spiritual milestones. Make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
Looking back, I can say that I am pleased with my life. Will the Father be able to say the same of you? Set goals, and celebrate each milestone. You will not regret it. May God bless you.
